    Nikon D80 Review

Posted in Nikon, Reviews at 4:06 am by Contact

    Camera Labs

The Nikon D80 digital SLR is the successor the D70s. Announced in August 2006, it???s positioned between the entry-level D50 and semi-professional D200, squarely targeting photographic enthusiasts or those who simply want a step-up from a budget model. The D80 inherits or tweaks many aspects from both the D50 and D200, along with introducing a few new features of its own. Starting with the headline specifications, the D80 shares the same 10.2 Megapixel resolution, 2.5in screen and user interface of the D200, although as we???ll explain in the review, there are some differences. The body itself is physically very similar to the D50 and inside there???s the same metering system.

    Nikon Coolpix P3 Concise Review

Posted in Nikon, Reviews at 9:45 am by Contact

    Nikon Coolpix P3Digital Photography Review

Announced just before PMA in February 2006, the 8 megapixel Coolpix P3 replaces the P2 at the top of Nikon’s compact Coolpix range, adding a few features (the headline change being the introduction of optical image stabilization) and sleeker, simpler styling. Like the P2 the P3 is one of the small, but growing, band of cameras with built-in wireless (802.11 b/g) Wi-Fi capabilities, and like most of Nikon’s higher-end Coolpix models it is stuffed to the gills with features, options and controls. Nikon also announced a sister model (the Coolpix P4) that offers exactly the same specification without the Wi-Fi for around $40 less. It is safe to assume that the image quality and handling aspects of this review are equally applicable to the P4.

    Nikon D200 Review

    Nikon D200Camera Labs

Nikon’s D200 is the successor to the D100 launched way back in the Summer of 2002. Back then the D100 went up against Canon’s EOS-D60, a model which Canon has since replaced twice, with a third successor expected to be announced by March. Yes, it’s sure been a long time coming, but at least Nikon’s pulled out all the stops for its latest digital SLR.The Nikon D200 is positioned between the D70s and D2X, targeting the serious amateur through to the professional photographer. It features 10.2 megapixel resolution, superb build quality, a wide array of features and fast handling. Many of the D200’s features are actually taken direct from the top-of-the-range D2X.

    Nikon Coolpix 7900 Review

Posted in Nikon, Reviews at 4:18 am by Contact

Nikon Coolpix 7900 Digital Photography Reviews

In February 2005 Nikon announced several new additions to its compact Coolpix range, including an entry-level 7 megapixel model (the Coolpix 7600) and two slightly more feature-rich cameras which are indentical except for their sensor pixel count; the 5MP Coolpix 5900 (which replaced the 5200) and the camera on test here, the 7MP Coolpix 7900. All three feature several unique features, including In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, face-priority AF, D-Lighting and Blur Warning, which analyses each shot as it is taken and warns if the image isn’t sharp.

The Coolpix 7900 joins an increasingly crowded field of small, ‘point and shoot’ 7 megapixel cameras from most of the major players, and goes head-to-head with popular models such as Canon’s SD500 and Sony’s P150/P200. So does the latest Coolpix have what it takes to stand out in an increasingly competitive market?
