The Samsung NV7 OPS? is the top-of-the-line model in the Korean manufacturer’s line of premium digital cameras. It packs a 7 Megapixel CCD, 7X optical zoom lens, optical image stabilization, full manual controls, and a very unique user interface.
The NV7 has an average bundle. Inside the box you’ll find:
- The 7.2 effective Megapixel Samsung NV7 OPS digital camera
- SLB-0837 lithium-ion rechargeable battery
- Wrist strap
- Lens cap w/retaining strap
- USB cable
- A/V cable
- AC-to-USB converter
- CD-ROM featuring Digimax Master and drivers
- 80 page camera manual (printed)
As is the case with many cameras these days, the NV7 has built-in memory instead of having a memory card included in the box. You’ll find just 19MB of memory on this camera, which holds just five photos at the highest quality setting. That means that you’ll want to buy a memory card right away, and I recommend picking up a 512MB or 1GB card to start. The camera supports both SD and MultiMedia memory cards, though not the newer and higher capacity SDHC format. The camera performs a little better with a high speed memory card, so it’s worth spending a little more money for one.

The NV10 is one of three models in Samsung’s stylish new NV series of digital cameras. This one’s a compact camera (though not as small as the NV3) that features a 10 Megapixel CCD, 3X optical zoom lens, digital image stabilization, and a 2.5″ LCD display. Those are all pretty run-of-the-mill features.
What really makes the NV10 stand out is its unique Smart Touch user interface. Instead of having buttons for specific purposes all over the camera, the NV10 has 13 “Smart Buttons” around the LCD. The function these buttons perform depend on what icon is above it. If I want to change the resolution, I first press the third button from the left. This brings up the various resolutions, and I use the buttons on the right to select one. It takes a lot of getting used to, but it is a real time saver compared to the menus usually found on digital cameras (in most cases).

Digital Photography Review
Samsung officially announced its first SLR-styled digital camera, the Pro815, an 8 megapixel, 15x zoom model back in June, but it didn’t actually arrive until the late autumn. It’s targeted at enthusiasts and boasts a lot of ‘world firsts’ including the largest LCD on a digital camera (3.5 inches), world’s longest zoom on a high-end camera and world’s largest capacity lithium-ion battery. The Pro815 sports a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and boasts a color data LCD screen for waist-level shooting, 2.5fps continuous mode and a wealth of photographic features.

Photography Review
The Samsung Digimax V700 is a full-featured point-and-shoot digital camera. It features a Schneider 3x optical zoom lens, a 2-inch color LCD with live histogram, and a nice range of exposure options, including full manual exposure control. The Digimax V700 is a very capable camera, offering the photographer lots of control. It’s also got full auto and scene modes for people who’d like the camera to make the decisions for them. The camera’s compact size, large LCD, and 7-megapixel CCD offer great image quality potential.
